May 2026 – Volunteer Newsletter

As we move through May, we want to sincerely thank each of you for the dedication, compassion, and time you continue to give to Adam’s Place. Your support helps strengthen our mission of walking alongside grieving children, teens, caregivers, and community members with empathy and care. Whether you volunteer at events, support behind the scenes, or help create welcoming spaces for families, your presence makes a meaningful difference and allows this work to continue reaching those who need it most.

As summer approaches and Camp Cope programs begin to slow down, this season can be a good reminder to also care for yourselves while continuing to hold space for others. Grief work can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally heavy at times. Giving yourself permission to rest, reconnect with activities that bring you joy, and check in with your own emotional needs is an important part of sustainable support work. Thank you for continuing to show up for our community with kindness, compassion, and heart! We are truly grateful for each of you.

💙 Be the Heart Behind Camp Cope 💙

On October 24th, we will gather for our Camp Cope One Day Grief Camp—a day dedicated to holding space, honoring stories, building coping skills, and reminding children and families that they are not alone in their grief. And we need you to help make that possible!

If you feel called to support children through one of the most tender experiences of their lives, this is your moment. You don’t have to have all the answers—just a willing heart, a listening ear, and the courage to show up. We will walk alongside you every step of the way with the training and support you need to serve as a facilitator.
If you are ready to make a difference or are already part of our Camp Cope Facilitator family and would like to be part of this amazing experience, simply head to our website and complete a volunteer registration form and select One Day Grief Camp to get started.

✨ Know someone who would be amazing at this? Share this opportunity with them and help us grow our Camp Cope community. ✨

The impact of one day can last a lifetime.
Come be part of something truly meaningful. 💛

As we prepare for another season of supporting grieving children and families, we invite our Adam’s Place community to help us continue this important work. Donations help provide grief support materials, activities, events, and safe spaces for the families we serve throughout the year.

One of the biggest ways you can help is by sharing our mission. Whether through donating, connecting us with potential sponsors, or simply spreading the word, your support truly makes a difference. Thank you for continuing to stand beside Adam’s Place and the families we serve.

💜💛💙🧡

Give Today!
As our Spring 2026 Camp Cope season officially comes to a close, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to every volunteer who helped make this year so impactful. Because of your compassion, consistency, and willingness to show up, grieving children, teens, and families across our community were reminded they are not alone. The laughter, connection, support, and safe spaces created this season would not have been possible without you. Thank you for sharing your hearts and your time with us. 🧡

Camp Cope groups will return in September for our Fall 2026 season and we would love for you to continue being part of it. We are currently looking for volunteers, especially for our One Day Camp Cope program and our growing Centennial Hills location, where the need for support continues to rise. Every volunteer helps us reach more grieving families and strengthen the support we can offer our community. We truly hope to see many familiar faces return this fall and welcome new hearts into the Camp Cope family. Together, we can continue making sure no child has to navigate grief alone. 🧡

Our Camp Cope Facilitator Handbook Is Here! 📚✨

As we celebrate 15 years of impact supporting grieving children and families, we’re proud to mark a meaningful milestone—the publication of our first two books in the Camp Cope for Kids series.

We are excited to spotlight Camp Cope for Kids: The Facilitator Guide, a resource thoughtfully developed from years of hands-on experience, best practices, and the voices of the children and families we serve. This guide is designed to support facilitators as a training and reference tool, helping ensure safe, consistent, and trauma-informed programming across Camp Cope.

Packed with practical insights, activity guidance, and facilitation support, this handbook is meant to be a trusted companion—before, during, and after sessions—so facilitators feel confident and supported every step of the way. 💡

These books will continue to be used as part of Camp Cope facilitator training. Participants who train with Adam’s Place will receive copies as part of their training experience, and Adam’s Place volunteers will continue to train at no cost and have access to the books at their program sites.

We’re grateful to everyone who has helped bring this resource to life and to our facilitators who make healing possible for grieving children every day. 💛
