January 2026 – Volunteer Newsletter

As we welcome the New Year, Adam’s Place leadership extends heartfelt thanks to each of you for the compassion and dedication you bring to our mission. Your willingness to show up, listen, and hold space allows grieving children, teens, and families to feel seen, supported, and safe. As we begin 2026, we invite you to reconnect with the heart of Adam’s Place—providing hope, healing, and community through grief support—while exploring the many volunteer opportunities available in the year ahead. This is also a time to reflect on our shared expectations and core values of empathy, integrity, confidentiality, and trauma-informed care that guide our work.

🎉 BIG congratulations to our Camp Cope Certified Facilitators — First Class of 2026!
This incredible cohort kicked off their journey as the first to receive both of our new training books as part of their certification experience. 📚✨

We are so proud of your commitment to supporting grieving children, teens, and families with compassion, skill, and heart. This is just the beginning 💙

🎒 Spring 2026 Camp Cope is Here!

Spring is finally here, and with it comes a new season of Camp Cope! We are thrilled to welcome families back to sessions filled with hope, connection, and healing—and we couldn’t do it without our incredible volunteers. Your time, care, and dedication are the foundation of a safe and supportive environment where grieving children, teens, and caregivers can truly be seen and heard.

This season, participants will have the chance to:

✨ Open up and share their stories in a compassionate, confidential space
✨ Form friendships with peers who understand their journey
✨ Discover coping skills and strategies that will carry them forward

Every smile you inspire, every conversation you hold, and every moment of encouragement leaves a lasting impact. Your commitment creates the safe space that makes growth and healing possible.

As we kick off Spring 2026, we invite you to help us extend our reach. If you know a family who could benefit from Camp Cope’s support—or someone who would be a fantastic addition to our volunteer team—please share our spring session details. Together, we continue to nurture a community where no child has to navigate grief alone. 💛

Our Camp Cope Facilitator Handbook Is Here! 📚✨

As we celebrate 15 years of impact supporting grieving children and families, we’re proud to mark a meaningful milestone—the publication of our first two books in the Camp Cope for Kids series.

We are excited to spotlight Camp Cope for Kids: The Facilitator Guide, a resource thoughtfully developed from years of hands-on experience, best practices, and the voices of the children and families we serve. This guide is designed to support facilitators as a training and reference tool, helping ensure safe, consistent, and trauma-informed programming across Camp Cope.

Packed with practical insights, activity guidance, and facilitation support, this handbook is meant to be a trusted companion—before, during, and after sessions—so facilitators feel confident and supported every step of the way. 💡

These books will continue to be used as part of Camp Cope facilitator training. Participants who train with Adam’s Place will receive copies as part of their training experience, and Adam’s Place volunteers will continue to train at no cost and have access to the books at their program sites.

We’re grateful to everyone who has helped bring this resource to life and to our facilitators who make healing possible for grieving children every day. 💛
