About the instructor:
Hi, I’m Karen, a Licensed Clinical Art Therapist, grief counselor, and career exploration specialist. I say explore because that is what we do together—explore options, explore what change can look like, and explore what happiness and contentment mean to you.
Karen has been facilitating art therapy groups since 2014. Karen has provided art therapy in various settings with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, with a concentration on grief and loss, as well as career exploration. Karen has presented and facilitated programs in several conferences like Curvy Girls, AATA, and Expressive Therapies Summit in NYC, volunteered at the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors of the Military for 17 years, and now is the art therapist for Wellspring, a residential mental health treatment center for women and girls in Bethlehem, CT.
I am a long-time resident of Woodbury, CT, an international flight attendant, an avid gardener, and an animal lover. I have two grown children and three cats. I worked with TAPS at Artful Grief for 14 years, have a career exploration business, and work as an art therapist at Wellspring in Bethlehem, CT.
